December 2020 update: The below was our initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We're planning a future update to be published here soon.

As you’re most likely aware, the current situation with COVID-19 continues to change day by day and even sometimes hour by hour. Our hearts are with the communities and individuals impacted by the outbreak.

While our online nature saves us from some direct consequences, many of our Creators and Clients are not so fortunate. Here are some of the steps we are taking to help them throughout this crisis.

Extension of Early Access

We originally planned to exit Early Access in early 2020. Given the unprecedented impact to Creators, we decided to postpone this exit to July 1, 2020. As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop, this timeline could be further delayed.

What does this mean for our Creators? All Creators who sign up before July 1, 2020 will continue to receive free Pro features (normally $10/mo) until at least September 1, 2020. This includes our no-platform-fee model and the ability to use Instant Payouts for US creators.

Day-to-Day Operations

Given the primarily online nature of the platform, the Commiss.io Team is used to operating remotely. In addition, our services are supported by world-class providers, including Amazon Web Services, Heroku, and Stripe.

At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption of our operations or business continuity; however, now more than ever, it’s important to maintain a high degree of availability for our services. If we experience issues or anticipate an impact at any point during this outbreak, we will communicate this to you as soon as possible.

Rapid Feature Response

This pandemic has brought unique challenges to communities around the world. Events have been postponed, travel has been restricted, and livelihoods have been disrupted.

We’re looking to rapidly ship features to help our Creators in this time of hardship, including the ability to sell physical items like custom projects and premades. If you have features to suggest, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We’re all in this together, and we’d love to brainstorm with you!

Creator Hardship Assistance

We’re looking into how we can help our Creators who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. If you’ve experienced an economic impact due to event cancellations or other difficulties, please reach out to [email protected].

Participation in Events

With a heavy heart, we've made the difficult decision to suspend our participation in external events and conferences until at least May 31, 2020. While it’s been our privilege to support and sponsor artist alleys and dealer's dens at previous conventions, we feel this is a necessary step to ensure the safety of our staff and the creator community as a whole.

We look forward to seeing you at future events!

Flattening the Curve

The most important thing we can do as individuals is to do our part to flatten the curve: by washing your hands and practicing social distancing, you can help limit the outbreak and ensure emergency medical services remain available for those who need them. Learn more at flattenthecurve.com.

We’ve added a dedicated channel to our Discord server to discuss ideas, share support, and be together with our community.

While these are tough times, we will make it through them as a community. We’re here for you.
