To improve user trust and reduce spam on the platform, Commiss.io is introducing a new launch process for Creator accounts. This is similar to many other platforms and will require new creators to submit their profile for approval.

Over the next few days, we'll also review existing accounts and reach out via email if your account needs additional verification.

For new creators

If you create an account on or after March 6, 2024 you'll be asked to submit your account for review before your creator account is activated.

What happens before launch

Before your creator profile is launched your profile and listings will be hidden to other users. To other signed-in users, your profile will appear the same as a client account. Other users won't be able to view your listings. You also aren't able to create projects or make sales during this time.

Whenever your account is in an "unlaunched" state you'll still be able to edit your profile and create listings as usual. You'll also see a preview of your creator profile so you can get it ready for launch.

When you're ready to launch

When you're ready to get your account reviewed you'll be able to request review from your profile page. Simply click the "request review" button on your profile and follow the instructions provided.

If your account is approved, you'll get another email letting you know and your account will be fully activated without any further action on your part.

If your account isn't approved, you'll get an email letting you know including instructions on what to do. You'll be able to resubmit your account for review from your profile page at any time.

What happens while my account is pending review

Your profile will be submitted to our staff for review within 2-3 days. Otherwise your profile will appear the same to other users as it does prior to requesting review.

You'll see an indicator on your profile page indicating your account is pending review.

For existing creators

For most existing creators there will be no change to your account and you won't have to go through the approval process again. If you're a relatively new creator or meet some criteria, we may reach out to you to collect additional information before your account is activated.

If you receive an email telling you your account is under review

If your account is new, your account may automatically be submitted for review during our transition period. If this is the case, we'll let you know via email and your account will temporarily be hidden during this time. No immediate action is required from you.

If your account is approved, you'll get another email letting you know and your account will be fully activated without any further action on your part.

If your account isn't approved, you'll get an email letting you know including instructions on what to do. You'll be able to resubmit your account for review from your profile page at any time.

If you receive an email telling you action is required

If you're very new, you may not yet be ready to have your account launched. This will often be the case if you have no project history and are fairly new to the platform. If this is the case, we'll send you an email asking you to submit your account for review when you're ready. You can follow the instructions above to submit your account for review.

If your account is approved, you'll get another email letting you know and your account will be fully activated without any further action on your part.

If your account isn't approved, you'll get an email letting you know including instructions on what to do. You'll be able to resubmit your account for review from your profile page at any time.

If you're an existing creator and don't hear from us

If your account was created before March 6, 2024 and you don't hear from us, then your account was automatically approved under our new system. No action is required from you and you shouldn't see any change to your Commiss.io profile or listings.

For clients and buyers

The verification process outlined above only applies to creators and artists on Commiss.io. Nothing is required from you as a client at this time.

As part of this launch, your profile will be labeled as a client account and will look a bit different from creator profiles. Additionally, client accounts will no longer be visible to signed-out users.
